Hi, I've been fixing the garden of my new home and I have a shady bed on a corner, and one under a tree. They don't recieve much direct sunlight, maybe an hour. It gets light but also only like three hours, the rest of the day is heavy shade. On winter when the leaves drop it gets direct sun and plenty of light

I want to do a potager, but I don't know what will grow on shade, any herbs, veggies? some flowers?

I've been reading and I saw hostas are a popular choice but I don't really like that plant. What do you recommend?

Here are the pictures:

I've added aged manure and dried leaves, like six months ago, it now looks again like dirt buy the soil quality is much better now than it was before, there are many worms.

On this picture the spot I'm talking about is the circular raised bed on the edge of the picture, the tree growing above it is a Lime tree, and in winter that spot gets plenty of light.

Thanks

Santi

Ferns and epimediums are shade plants you could consider.
