Which book would you recommend?

I'm in need of another book on shade gardening and I'm a novice in pretty much every single aspect of gardening. I've had a vegetable garden since last spring, but that's it, so I have no clue what I'm doing. :) I'm looking at Making the Most of Shade and The Complete Shade Gardener. Which would you recommend for someone who doesn't even know what half the plants are until I look them up or see a picture? lol

What area of the country do you live in? Sometimes there are good regional books too.

My favorite are: Harriat Norse's Gardeninf in he Shade available through Dover and George Schenk's "the complete Shade Gardener"

I like "Making the Most of Shade". Everyone will have their own favorite. I would suggest going to a good bookstore and browsing through the books and see which one you like the best. Take time to read through the info on a few plants in both books. See which one you find the most informative and go with that.
