Is there any way I can guess how much shade there will be?

Is there anyway that I can tell how much shade there will be after the trees leaf out? I know what trees I have (a large oak, tulip poplars, a holly, a few scraggly pines, a Southern Magnolia, and a birch. In the front, there is a dogwood, Japanese weeping maple, crape myrtle. I know that certain plants are doing great- rhodendendron, azaleas, nandina, Persian ivy, barberry, and roses growing all wild in the back. It is a forest but the branches of all of them start high up. It is much more dense woods than what I had in Belgium where I could grow most plants that were considered sunlovers even though I lived in the woods there too and it was usually cloudy. Can I make a good guess on shade before the trees leaf out? I want to start ordering and buying perennials and bulbs.
