I need to plant some fairly low growing, shade loving plants that can handle sharing the space with roots of Japanese hollies... one of those tiny-leafed Ilex varieties. The shade is very deep, but the space is tall enough for hostas. The back sides of these hollies, as viewed walking up to the house and from the porch is really unsightly right now. Will impatiens grow in those conditions? Maybe planted between the hostas. What else would look good in there?
