Hi. I live in Southern CA, San Pedro to be exact and my home is facing north. I have a large garden bed between the house and the the lawn. Many parts of this bed experience a lot of shade, especially in the winter when the house blocks most of the sun during the day. I have attached a gallery of photos that give an idea of what I'm dealing with. My question is, judging from the photos and the fact that I'd like this to be as low-water as possible, what kind of perennial 3-4 foot shrubs should I choose for the shade/partial shade areas? The sunnier parts consist of salvias, lavenders and luecadendrons. Any suggestions for the darker areas?
