Colombine taking over, geraniums not looking too hot

| Greetings all! It's been a while since I've posted in this forum, having been obsessed with veggies, but my somewhat neglected shad garden is having issues.
I have hostas, some painted fern, hardy geranium and columbine (and weeds). The columbine is just taking over! It's practically like groundcover how quickly it spreads and I'm not sure what to do about that. In fact, it reseeded everywhere but where I wanted it to. I took some seeds last year and spread them under a honeysuckle that borders the bed, but they didn't sprout at all. The geranium, however, isn't looking so good. It's quite limp and lays on the ground. I desprately need to mulch, but does it need some type of plant food or other boost? Or is it normal for it to look that way this early in the season?
Thanks in advance! |

| I have found columbine to transplant very easily, when small. You might try moving a few of your plants to where you want them. They are a "short lived" perennial so what looks like abundance this year, may not be so next. Mine are a spring bloomer so I would say ENJOY while you can, they will soon be gone. I can't imagine thinking I have too many. |
