dieffenbachia -- just how much shade?

I've got a dieffenbachia but bought it by mistake. I don't want it in the house because I have small children and a puppy. I want to put it outside but the shadiest place in my garden still gets direct morning sun. What are the chances this thing will survive? I think it's very pretty and would like it to live, but I just haven't got anything shadier available outside.

Hi,

Sorry to say I dont think your Dieff will be happy in any direct sunlight. You could always plant things around it to make some shade. Be sure these plants are hardy in your zone before planting outside. If you have to keep indoors, place it high up on a shelf, cabinet etc. Good luck,

Jen
