Globe Flower or Trollius

I just found out that Globe Flower does not like to be planted in boggy soil! Look at this:

Globeflower (Trollius). Light shade to full sun, zones 5-8.

These three foot tall bushy plants produce rounded, yellow and orange flowers in late spring and early summer. They thrive in moist, heavy, humus-rich soil, although you should avoid planting them in boggy soil. Deadhead to prolong blooming. Globeflowers prefer shade and can tolerate direct sun only in cooler climates and if kept moist!

Dang! No wonder my poor plants have been languishing! They need some drainage! I wonder if it's too late to move em? What's your experience with this flower? Any photos? My email is: dfaustclancy@hotmail.com

RE: Globe Flower or Trollius

I have mine in a full sun, very dry spot. A sloped bed with sharp drainage, facing SE. They were slow to grow, but after 3 years, they are putting on a decent show right now. One of the more deer resistant plants I have.
