Gardening in Shade

growing plants in dry stone wall in Shade!

hi, has anyone had any luck growing ferns or other shade plants in the crevices of dry stone walls? I'd LOVE to try maidenhair fern although I'm a bit scared of it, thinking it will die on me.....anyway, wondering if anyone has had any experience with anything shady successfully!

Corydalis lutea, and dicentra eximia(sp?) are currently growing in my wall.

I have jacks, probably five different ferns - including maidenhair, Duthman's britches, Cimicifuga, Corydalis lutea, Bloodroot, Wild geranium, Columbibe, that I can name off the top of my head without going out with a flashlight.

Correction: 10 ferns, some of which have spored themselves in. Also Uvularia grandiflora

thanks everyone! wondering WHICH lamium you use! i'm scared of all but 'herman's pride' because i don't want them to take over everything! : ) this is encouraging. thanks so much!
