If I only had a spot or two with too much "shade" I'd be okay with the variety of plants I could use. Having more Maple and Pine shade than I'd like is a pain.

Like the way you described various levels of shade. I was going through places I've got plants as I looked at your photos with sunlight arrows.

I learned through my experience this year that even dense shade doesn't mean blackout conditions once those Maples have leafed out.

Helpful and good reminder of what one really has to work with no matter how much denial about shade conditions is entertained. :)
