Hakonechloa in the South?

Has anyone grown the Japanese ornamental grass Hakonechloa in humid z7 (e.g. North Alabama)? If so, what varieties and conditions did you have and with what results? I'd like to try some in my shady area and would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.
