Hello Everyone,
I have two containers that flank a garage door. The area faces east and while one container will get the morning sun, the other is half hidden by a large tree which blocks most of the sun as it heads across the sky.

To make matters more difficult I really need taller columnar selections because of the location and the garage door. I don't care if it's a shrub, a plant, or a dwarf tree. I did try a pair of spiral Hollywood Junipers, but although one did fairly well, the other wasn't happy.

I'm trying to find "tall" center pieces and then I can fill in at the bases with some color. It's the center areas that are giving me the problems. 2-4 feet in height would be fine.

Oh, and to further make matters almost impossible, I'm also dealing with a coastal wind situation. Not that harsh, but thought I should mention it.
