| First.......I believe I'm in zone 4. I'm in southeastern Wisconsin, near Lake Michigan. Would appreciate knowing my exact zone.
Next, I'm in the process of creating a shade garden located under numerous pine trees. Little to no sun. Would like more than just hostas and ferns. Any ideas? And of course when to plant, (spring, fall?) Do I need to amend soil, or leave alone? Thanks for your help in advance. |

| I would amend the soil. As to plants concentrate on the natives. See my Home page as to what I did. |

| If you're near Lake Michigan in SE WI you're zone 5, possibly 5b depending how close you are to the lake. |
