All of my Lamium white nancy died

| Hello,
I planted twelve 1qt Lamium white Nancy in a part shade area of my garden and at least 8 are dead and the other four appear to be on deaths door. I watered these plants daily for the first week. Did over water, can it take 3-4 hours of sun/day?
I am torn about replanting. I like the plant but not if it will fail to thrive.
thank you for any help.

| Carl, I had the same problem with White Nancy in a dry shade bed, with morning sun. They thrived at first, but then faltered somewhat, and did not reliably return after winter. I replanted, and had the same thing happen. I'm debating whether to try another lamium or just another groundcover. I'm thinking that my problem is dryness. Although mulched, this is really quite a dry bed, even though I try to water consistently. I'm afraid I'm not sure what your problem is. I think the 3-4 hours of sun is probably okay - morning or afternoon? Sorry I can't be of more help. Dee |

| I divided a bunch of White Nancy early this season, and planted it in my new hosta bed. I hadn't done anything to condition the soil besides dig up the weeds before putting it in. The soil was OK. It's done amazingly fine. Seems to like growing here without any help from me. I watered the hostas when they wilted from too little rain and too much heat (here in zone 6, in Masschusetts, we got an unprecedented 25 days of over 90 degree weather with little or no rain this summer), and the lamium got watered too but it didn't even wilt before that. So for me, here in MA, it's perfect for these plants. They have spread so much I am wondering where to put the over-abundance. |
