astilbe-any tips or advice?

I have two small raised beds in front of my house. It's the north side (some afternoon sun), and there aren't any gutters, so if it rains it can get really wet. I've got a lot of ferns and hostas that are doing well here.

I wanted some color, so I was lured by the pictures of an astilbe (Bressingham Beauty I think) and ordered one.

I did a check on past posts on this plant, and was a little discouraged. We've had a hot summer, and daytime highs are still in the 90's. It's usually hot and humid in the summer here, but this is unusual. I'm trying to think about where I should put it, do I need to ammend the soil first, etc.

Anyone grow any astilbes? Any tips or advice before I transplant it? I know they like shade and moisture, but that's about it.

Thanks
