varigated weigelia for shade?

I've planted 3 Redbuds on the East corner next to the woods. I'm thinking of planting 3 Weigelias there as well.I know weigelia does well in clay and I won't have to ammend the soil much. How do you think they will do in more than "partial" shade?

Weigela need a full sun to flower. It may sparsly bloom in spring in part sun position, but definitely will not rebloom in August-September as it does if planted in full sun.

Thanks. I think I'll go with the Creeping Mahonia. I haven't seen it used much in gardens around here.
