I need a shrub/bush for shade in a zone 5

| I need to put about 3 bush's on the side of my house. They need to be fine with only 2-3 hours at the most of direct sun. I currently have common lilac's there that I can't even begin to imagine how old they are. Each year they get powdery mildew and look worse and worse. I need a bush that grows quick and doesn't die down in the winter. These will be shielding our bedroom windows. |

| You don't want to plant shrubs next to the house that will obscure your bedroom windows. |

| If you require an ever-green type plant, you could try a dense Yew or Holly (which are shade tolerant) or boxwood (which will stay green in mild winters) Ian |

Suggestions: - azalea is evergreen. - buddleia is not but the branches are there all winter until you cut the plant back in early Spring. The flowers are awesome for about three to four months. Looking out your window and seeing the butterflies on the buddleia -- a treat! |
