One of the best TV shows I've seen that actually deals with tiny urban gardens is a British show called City Gardener on HGTV. They actually give some helpful advice on designing a usable space while incorporating plants and a garden. Anyone else seen this show? What do you think?

I love that show too! My little garden in Baltimore is about the size of the ones in England and has a brick wall around most of it. That show is inspiration to me. Fannychup

I really like it as well. Part of it is that I like the host, but I also like the fact that their "little" gardens really are little gardens! He does tend to do much more dramatic overhaul's than I'm capable of, but I like the way he really listens to what the client wants, while broadening their horizons a little bit.

I really like that show! Most gardening shows these days seem to be "rooted" in the South or the West. Those of us in Zones 6 and higher really can use that sort of advice. And it focuses on small gardens!

I am also an Urban Gardener, with a container garden on my 8x10 ft deck, behind my San Francisco apartment. I've started a web site, to share some great resources for "compact gardens". Check out the "Ideas" section, where I have links to several free information resources, I've discovered across the web: http://www.compactgarden.com

I LOVE that show, and the host is marvellous. I really like the fact that they go over the inspiration for plant choice at the beginning of the show. The host shows you the full-size, often SUPER HUGE garden idea that influenced the plants in the garden he is designing. My favorite episode was the garden he did for the mods. Oh, to have a garden as fantastical as that with rounded retaining walls and the hanging egg chair!!! GGG
