Razors stop thieves

When I was living in the city these rat bastards kept steeling my hanging plants. I hated paying $30 to replace them. What I did was superglue razors under the pots after I hung them. That year I can remember finding blood on my porch 3 times. It felt good!

Wow -- that's hardcore.

The most I've ever done is run wire from the holes in the basket rim thru the closed screw eye in the ceiling. People can still steal them, but they need some wire cutters and a bit of patience.

I've rarely had hanging baskets taken; in my neighborhood people are much more likely to just snatch a pot from the porch railing.
