Very cool. Now you can watch the Mets outside. You might want to check out the container gardening forum. I've learned a lot there. It's nice to run into other New Yorkers here.

Thanks much! Unfortunately I'm not a Mets (or baseball) fan, much prefer soccer and tennis. I was able to watch the US Open finals outside and it was bliss lol!
I will definitely be checking out the "container" forum. I dont get any sun because of the shady tree roof, but am hoping to find some type of flower that will do well in the setting.

Your "room" looks great, I especially love the 4-legged helper you had! We have a similar sized space in Philly, and also have a roof deck. It is kind of fun having a small space, as you can change it around easily and you can splurge for special things as you don't need to fill such a large space. Astilbe, hosta's and bleeding heart are nice shade plants. I've grown them all in both containers and in the ground.
