Potted Buttterfly Bush

I have a potted butterfly bush that has been blooming nonstop all summer. Now it is cold and I really want to keep it over winter to enjoy again next year. I have a cool room in the basement to put it but it won't get any sunlight. Does anyone have any suggestions for me?

This is an old thread, so answers may be too late, but....You don't need sunlight for dormant deciduous plants!
