has anyone bought from Michigan bulb company, Burgees or Direct gardening, and what have your experiences been with them?

RE: anyone....

When I was a novice gardener, I ordered plants from Michigan Bulb, and then found out that more experienced gardeners called Mich. Bulb "death by mail." They were right. Not a good supplier--check them out on Garden Watchdog.
Burgees? Do you mean Burgess? Also an iffy supplier. I'd use them as a last resort.
Don't know anything about Direct Gardening. You might want to check them out on Garden Watchdog also.

Agreed! Everyone makes the novice mistake of Michigan Bulb Co. But, with GardenWatchdog here at Dav's - no one NEEDS to make these mistakes ever again! I think we should start the ASPCBP (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Bulbs & Plants), Michigan Bulb would be number one on the list. My first time ordering 20 years ago was a small plastic bag that had literally a dried up root (supposed to be a Hosta), no pip, no crown, just a thread of dried up root!!!
If you want the best, go to your local independent garden center and SEE what you are getting! In the long run you will be spending less and getting 1000 time more!
Good Gardening!
