| I took care of an elderly lady back in 1990 and she gave me some seed she had collected in China.I thought I had lost it but found it today.I was wondering how to tell the difference from common poppy seed and the opium seed that I just might have.

| Opium poppy seeds are usually bluish or white, other poppy seeds are usually dark brown or black. Compare with poppy bread seeds, they are the same species (Papaver somniferum). |
