Advice on removing limb from Royal Poincianna. Please help!!

Hi,

I would appreciate some advice on whether it will be safe to remove a limb on my young Royal Poincianna that is the same thickness as the trunk. I worry about the tree dying from shock if I would remove it, or would it be OK?

Thank you in advance for your advice.

I know I plan to cut mine after blooming. Mine is just getting ready to bloom. I have something I can paint on the cut to keep it from coming out the same area. I think it is called Sucker Stopper or something like that.
I almost all plants to shape them.
Yours has quite a nice shape.

I cut the limb off and I think it's going to be OK. Looks much better this way.
