van Bourgondien Dutch Bulbs & Perennials

Seems to me I have read negative things about these folks, but a search of this site and the Garden Watchdog reveals nothing either positive or negative. (The search of this site referred me to a long thread about Wayside, which I scanned thinking at least it would be mentioned, but couldn't find a word. Strange!) Anyway--they have an attractive catalog and some things I'd like to get which I haven't seen elsewhere, so I thought I'd ask if anyone has any feedback, hopefully positive, about them. Thank you!

Try GW again! This company has a 52% NEGATIVE rating there and my own personal experience bears this out Small and poor quality bulbs, dried or rotted perennial roots, instead of plants. If they do manage to survive, with your extraordinary effort, they will likely be the wrong color or cultivar. Even their replacements, after a long hassle with customer(non)service, were no better than the original shipments. I am embarrassed to reveal how much I am out of pocket with this outfit. Needless to say, I will never order from them again or recommend them to anyone. They also operate under various other names, including VanDyke, so be cautious!

Thank you, Rb! That's what I was afraid of. Wonder why I couldn't find them on Garden Watchdog. Sometimes I'm not too bright. Thanks again--sigh
