Trying find out a type of flower or plant

I was driving through a neighbor and there was a flower or plant that caught my eye and would love to know what type of plant or flower it was. It was about 3 to 4 foot tall, had a big red flower at the top of the, tall stem, with tropical looking leaves to it. It was in a sunny and half shady area

Does anyone have any ideas what type of plant or flower this could be???
