Type in 'seed germination' as your keywords, using Google as a search engine. There are also MANY great text books on the subject, which actually might be a better way to get started. The Ball Red Book, The Encyclopedia of Seed Germination (Nau), Plant Propagation (Hartmann and Kester), etc. Seed sowing on a large scale is something that needs to be studied FIRST and practiced LAST.
If you are wanting to experiment with growing a few plants from seed as a great hobby, there is quite a bit you can learn from a good seed catalog, like Parks Wholesale. They give you temperatures, weeks to flower, light requirements, etc.
