Knoxville, TN - When to start my indoor veggie seeds?

I am planning a veggie garden, but am a newbie to food gardening. I have experience with flowers, trees and shrubs and am pretty good with plants so I am hopeful.

However, I am getting conflicting advice on when to start seeds for my veggies and when to pant them outside.

I am planning for heirloom tomatoes, squash, various hot peppers and bell peppers, cucumbers, beans of all types, okra, etc. Any insight will be helpful.

I would plant the tomatoes inside, 6-8 weeks before your last frost date. They need a very sunny window. The rest I would plant in the garden when it is hot.

I start my tomatoes and peppers around 8 weeks before the last average frost. The squash and beans go in (direct sow) just after the last average frost, but I wait to pland okra until a few weeks later, when the ground has warmed up even more.
