| My Southern gardening friends has any of you all planted Gunnera tinctoria - Gunnera it remindes me of the caster bean plant? Would like to know if it could be grown here in Alabama and where would one find such a wonderful plant?

| I hope I am wrong, but I suspect it needs a cooler summer and warmer winter than we can provide...also, a stream-side location. I hope someone proves it can grow here. I would love to try it too. |

| From all I have read it needs a much cooler summer than we can give it here in the south. Castor Bean, however, is a great substitute and does very well here. |
