 o
service berry and the birds???

I was recommended a serviceberry tree for my back yard to replace a large evergreen lost to an icestorm. I love everything about it but am afraid the birds who supposedly love the berries will leave their calling card all over my patio and patiochairs very near the location (6 to 8 feet away). What is your experience with that situation? would you recommend another possibility for a blooming tree, zone 6, partial shade and partial sun, to grow about 20 feet tall and 20 feet wide. The tree needs to also be sort of dense for privacy and pest and disease resistant.
Help, thanks

Indeed, you will likely suffer from the birds' droppings.

Does it need to form a hedge?
Do you want privacy in winter also?

American holley?
