I started some Carolina Jasmine cuttings this morning using softwood rooting method. The link below has information with photos which you may find useful. I have rooted lots of other cuttings using this method, but this is my first try at Jasmine.

Here is a link that might be useful: How to root softwood cuttings

check out this site linked below. It suggests soft wood cuttings too.
Look around the ground around the bush. There is a very good chance that you will find some small plants coming up from seeds.
Good luck!

I do this with Azaleas and other shrubs. And i'm sure it'll work on the vine. I cut some leaves off of a very low hanging branch. I bury the leafless thin branch under some compost...then I put a large rock on top. I bury it so that it is still connected to the bush and the other end is sticking out several inches with leaves coming out for 5-6". I make sure it stays moist and later on into the season or fall I tug on it to see if it has rooted and then chop it off from the main bush and plant it where i want it. Its easy for me. G'luck!

Carolina JESSAMINE. It helps to remember that it is not a jasmine when doing propagating and things like that, ;-).

Jessamine is a variant spelling for jasmine, so you can research both. Likely you will research one name & find an article on the other! ;)

You can come to my house and have all you want! It grows wild and crazy in the SC forest we live in... can't keep it out of my flower beds, lawn, driveway, AC unit, anywhere! (I'm sure I'm gonna flip open the toilet lid one day and see it there.)

Don't care if it is the state flower... I hate the stuff. (Sure smells pretty in the early spring, though...)

I would love for someone to send me some cuttings as I can not find it here in any of the stores, Wal-Mart, Home Depot or Lowes. Would be glad to pay for postage or trade.
