SADLY, I accidentally cut the "life" vine of a beautiful 15-year old Confederate Jasmine (i.e. the portion of the vine that led to the growth of the entire leafy plant). I have cut the vine back to remove the dead growth. It was growing on an arbor so now I have a fairly thick vine remaining which is growing out of the ground. Is it okay for me to cut this vine back level with the ground? I'm assuming the future growth will come from vines growing from the roots which will (hopefully) one day grow as large as the other that I accidentally cut. If I'm correct in this, then I probably don't need to leave the remaining vine, right? Thanks!
