Camellia Greensboro Red...anyone grow it?

Posted by pfmastin 7b N. Carolina (My Page) on

I am trying to identify a Camellia japonica in my yard and hope you can help. 'Greensboro Red' has been suggested, but it's described as a "light red"...I'm not sure this is it. I haven't been able to find a photo online...if someone has one, I'd love to see a photo or get a positive i.d. Thank you so much!

I thought it was Yuletide, but that is a sasanqua, but it looks very similar:

when did/does it bloom?

hi buford...as far as bloom time, it is just finishing. The blooms are about 5 inches across. I have Yuletide and its blooms are darker and very much smaller than this one. Thank you for taking time to respond, though!
