| I have been offered free pine chips for mulching. The pine trees were just cut down recently. Doesn't it need to dry out before I apply it? |

| Not necessarily. Do not mix it into the soil (it will tie up the nitrogen), just lay it over the top of your beds: 2-3 inches will be sufficient. |
