I am designing a front porch container that needs silver. I am looking at both of these (expensive) plants, one of which, as best I can tell, is only available from Plant Delights. Does anyone have any experience with either one in the deep south? I have lost pulmonaria, Mrs. Moon AND Brunnera, Lantrees in the past, though in a different garden when I had less experience. Still...would rather not waste my money.

RE: Pulmonaria Samourai or Brunnera Looking Glass?
I do have experience with these plants but not in containers. There are lots of silver foliage plants out there that might fit the bill that are cheaper, Artimesia 'silver mound' or 'powis castle' come to mind.

Thanks for responding, Ike. Where do you live? If you are in a zone 7 or higher, I would really love to hear what conditions you give these plants and how they perform for you. I have both of the artemisias. I seriously doubt they would like (damp)container culture here, as it's a real struggle to keep them fit in the ground.

consider instead lambs ears Helen von Stein will stay low with fuzzy silver leaves that can take the heat and it doesn't flower! or not much!? I never saw a flower on mine!
