It does work great if it's a true grass (like bermuda) but if it's St. Augustine grass it's useless. Another product with the same ingredients as grass-be-gone is Fertilome's "Over-the-Top". Most better nurserys and garden centers sell Fertilome products.

Ortho Grass B Gone is available at Lowes. If yours doesn't have it they will order it upon request. Especially as close as you are to Wilkesboro.

Can you spray these Grass B Gone products on beds and not kill the plants?

I used to try to hand pull bermudagrass but that's a losing proposition cause the roots spread horizontally for around fifty feet. Now I spray grass be gone and it does a great job killing the bermuda in my rose beds and doesn't hurt my roses. I do wonder about other grassy plants though. I have some yarrow that looks grassy so I won't spray it near them.

Forgot to add - Walmart nearly always has it, I've sometimes seen it at Lowes.

Grass-Be-Gone and Fertilome's Over-The-Top both contain the active ingredient Fluazifop-p-butyl. This herbicide is great for controlling bermuda grass in flower beds. It will kill the grass and not harm most ornamentals. The supplied brochure should be read to fully understand what it will kill and what it will not harm.
BTW I've practically wiped out bermuda grass that was everywhere in my flower beds. I used the Fertilome product which can be purchased in a concentrate form and in the long run is much cheaper.

Grasses, lilies, and corn are monocots-all other trees, shrubs and plants are dicots. If you spray a product like "Grass be Gone" in your flower beds-it only kills the monocots-great stuff! Lynn
