Hey Dottie, just wanted to let you know I saw your post at the end of the "What you wished you'd never planted" thread and left you a reply there. I'd love to hear from you and how you and your gardens are doing.

Hopefully she has replied by now.

RE: Hello Dottie

Hiya Dieter. Gardens are doing some better though not finished enough for viewing.
Still wish I'd never planted oenothera (the pink version). I had to take 8" depth of soil out of a bed to get rid of them but a stray seed caught hold in another bed. Now I'm resorting to brush killer (they laugh at regular Round-Up)

Too bad it's such a thug. It would be valuable on hillsides where you can't get grass to grow. Just not here.

RE: Hello Dottie

Thanks for the heads up on the oenothera, I've seen it in a neighbor's bed and it looks real pretty, but I have no need for thugs. I have some of the pink yarrow in a container because it, too, is a thug that spreads rapidly. I'm thinking I made a mistake in planting the Homestead purple verbena, it is spreading pretty rapidly as well.
