Ryanna, I had a lengthy reply that I think I deleted.

Several contact suggestions.
1 - The fruit and orchard forum has lots of people on it and good responses.
2 - Talk to your county extension agent on fruit tree varieties. One of your restrictions will be varieties that don't need long 'chill hours' to flower. And there are new varieties of apples and pears that are disease resistant and therefore more trouble free.
3 - there is a nursery in north Georgia that has fruit trees for Georgia and they have nice descriptions; and they have a website. It's www.Johnsonnursery.com.

In regards to Peaches. I do think they require care, such as consistent and timely spraying to get fruit. and the trees last 12 years. But if you know that going in your good. I don't know about those varieties.

With Pears and apples, you have to get varieties with low winter chill requirements and resistance to fire blight.

Some fruit tree that are indestructible in Georgia, are Figs, Asian and native persimmons, Paw Paws, and if you have acidic soil, rabbiteye blueberries are native and do really well.
