Can I replant Crepe Myrtle bush now....

We recently moved into a home that had an existing landscape that was a little neglected and needed some attention. There are a few crepe myrtle bushes, two approx 3 feet tall and one approx 2 feet. I would like to transplant them to another area in my yard since they are currently too crowded.

I know the best time to transplant them is during the dormant stage, in the fall and winter, but I would like to move them now. Any special things I should try? Or would it just be easier to dig them up and discard them if they just will not make it at this time of year?

The ideal time to transplant shrubs and trees, etc. is fall, but if you are planting in really good, organic, rich, well drained, moist soil, and if you dig them properly with a good root ball, and if you mulch them very well upon planting, and if you water them in well, and then keep them moist, but don't overdo it, they will do fine. :)

Mulch well, keep them hydrated, both roots & foliage, & I always use fish & seaweed solution;
I think it might be magic.

Small Crape Myrtle bushes seem to be quite hardy, I have even moved those in mid summer, but as has been said they will need water and care. I just dug them up and planted them without adding anything.
