I am not so sure that watering them every day is a good idea. Overwatering can be just as much a problem as drought.

I grew wave petunias from seed for the past two years. I have some planted directly in the garden and some in moss lined hanging baskets. Both are in full sun. The ones in the baskets seem to do best. I think it is because they like well drained soil and hot sun. I water the baskets early morning only. The petunias planted directly in the garden get watered once a week with drip hoses if it doesn't rain.

Wave petunias tend to get really leggy and will die out in the center if you don't prune them back to reinvigorate them every now and then -- at least that was my experience with them last year. I had to dead head on a regular basis, and cut them back by about 1/3 per plant a few times during the growing season...also, too much overhead watering sometimes makes them wilty and the leaves will turn yellow. I was told to prune back every 3rd stem by 1/3 to reinvigorate them when they started getting leggy and the blooms became sparse. That, along with regular dead heading and watering them only where the crown of each plant meets the soil ( at ground level, not overhead) worked for me.

I went with Tidal Waves this year...all I have to do with them is dead head every couple of days, and they don't seem to mind overhead watering one bit. I'm much happier with them than the regular Wave petunias.
