Red Perennial - no taller than 2 feet

Can someone recommend a red perennial that can take full sun? I am looking for a perennial that's not over 2 feet tall. I thought of a dwarf canna, but wasn't sure if it would revert back to the base type of plant a few years later (all my other dwarf cannas went back to a tall red or orange canna). Thanks -
