where to plant columbine?

I am from York, SC and saw a post from scgatorgal from York, SC also. I wondered where she bought the plants from. I need a shade tolerant-deer-resistant plant.

So do you want to know where to plant it or where to get it? or both?

For planting I'd recommend an area with dappled sun.

I live in Charlotte and started mine from seed and they are in full sun. I started them in January indooors and have had them in the same spot, they self-seed, for over 6 years and nary a problem.

Columbines are shade tolerant. Just make sure to plant them where they will get some moisture, they don't thrive in dry shade. We have had some growing in early morning shade, with a little dappled sun in the afternoon for several years. Very pretty and fragrant.
