Need your expert opinions / advice!

I have never planted a hedgerow. I want to plant a hedge across the front of my yard (full sun). I want a fairly tall hedge for privacy. I definitely want the hedge to be full and leafy at the bottom. I want a very dense full hedge. I don't mind trimming it. What is the best hedge plant for this situation. I want the hedge to go across the front lawn and I will put in a gate across the driveway.

Viburnum Suspensum or Odotissarum,
Cleyera
Ligustrum
Pineapple guava

there are many choices depending on the soil and type of irrigation you will have....

You may want to skip the ligustrum as it is invasive, not only in your own yard, but in our forests.

You could use Sasanqua camelias, some varieties get up to 15' tall. Gardenias is a option. There are lots of hollies that would work. Probably the lest expensive, fastest growing and the least attrative would be Leyland Cypress.

as much as i like gardenias, i would caution you to be aware that they can suffer winter kill if you site them in an exposed area and if you are in zone 7.
cleyera (ternstroemia) has beautiful foliage.
depending on your zone, pittosporum could be a candidate.
hollies might be the best option.
