black eggs on leaves of Squash & Zucchini

I'm new to gardening & I have some kind of insect eating my plants. It started with the Squash & Zucchini and has now moved to my Asian Gummy Melon & Basil plants. What ever it is, it has devastated one Squash plant already & has just about killed the Zucchini.

I haven't seen it. I do know it lays black eggs on the top of the leaves & along the stems. The eggs look like poppy seeds or caviar eggs.

I have tried soapy water & the Ortho Ecosense (?) 3in1 to no avail. Also, I have planted Marigolds, Lavender & Sage around the garden. Any ideas on what it is & how to kill it. I'm afraid it will go after my Tomatoes & Peppers next.

patti, likely you have two denizens since the chewing,destructive worms are the larva. It's the moth that's laying the eggs.
Wait to see what hatches from the eggs. It might be wheelbug eggs and their babies will make short work of any worms chewing on the leaves.
