We are near Greensboro, NC and I have stopped at several nurseries and even called a few. Just wondering where those of you who grow these get them?

You probably won't find many because they are zone 9 hardy, unless you have a basement to store them in winter so nurseries don't sell them because they would be replacing them every spring.

I saw them at the local Lowes a couple weeks ago. Quite expensive. $15 or so for a pot. (Yes, they'd be annual here. I've always wondered about overwintering them because they're so beautiful.)

My neighbor overwintered our plant with occasional watering - basement window.

Bullthistle, what in the world do you mean: "You probably won't find many because they are zone 9 hardy, unless you have a basement to store them in winter so nurseries don't sell them because they would be replacing them every spring."

This is just silly. There are a zillion plants being sold that aren't winter hardy. I've seen them at the big boxes as well as local nurseries, this year, every year.

I had one that I kept by taking it indoors fpr 5 years. It is pretty easy to keep since I managed to do it.
