In the veggie garden, herbs, Asparagus Beans and Eggplant. Too hot for everything else. The tomatoes all were lost due to fungal problems from the daily deluge.

But in the fruit department, things are going great! Am now enjoying Apache Blackberries, Sweet Charlie Strawberries, Blueberries, Plums, Mangos, Calamondins, and Key Limes (not ripe yet but still very good).

Earlier this year had Loquats, Mulberries, Apples, Peaches, and Nectarines. Great crops- but mostly destroyed by squirrels. I still catch one nearly every day in the live trap. Hasn't made a dent in the population.

The Figs are looking great and the trees are covered with green fruit. The Black Sapote has young fruit, as do all the citrus. The Sugar Gate Grapes are turning nicely purple. Even have tiny nuts on the Macadamia tree. No Bananas yet-they were too beaten up by the hurricanes last year.

Will start up the veggie gardens again in September. I miss home grown tomatoes! I have no luck with zukes or squashes, they all get moldy diseases or insects get them before we do.

If you like Okra, why not try them in the bean area? They are easy to grow and also pretty!
