Yes, the flowers could be winding down for the season, especially if they have dried and gone to seed, that signals the end of the cycle for that year. If you want more flowers, and this applies to most annuals and perennials, you "deadhead" or snip off the dying flowers so that the plant does NOT go to seed, and tries to complete it's cycle by making more flowers so it can go to seed. I usually just snip below the flower or down to the next set of leaves becoz it looks more tidy that way. Hope this reply was not too late, I was out of town.

Thank you for getting back to me! I wish they had lasted longer, they look so sad and leggy now. Maybe with some experience I'll have better luck next year :)
