To those who know their local frost dates...

I have just finished up a web application for looking up your local frost dates based on the National Climatic Data Center's freeze/frost data. I have checked out everything for my area and it looks good to me.

To those of you who generally know the frost dates for your area, would you give my "Frost Date Finder" a go and see if it checks out for where you are?

Here's the link:

Thanks so much for your help!

Zip 35023 - This is all anecdotal, but I found your last frost date to be a little early. We sometimes have Spring frost as late as the second week of April. I have sometimes covered planted tomato plants with flower pots as late as the third week of April when scattered frost was predicted. Also I find your date of Nov. 1 as late for the first frost. We have had first frost as early as Oct 11 and usually by Oct. 22-23. I have seen first frost as late as Thankgiving but usually the last week of Oct. is average. I've gardened for years in this zip code and I've kept up with it pretty well. We grew and showed dahlias for many years, vegetable gardened and now grow ornamental and tropicals so I keep up with frost dates.
