Knock out roses with yellowing

We have 3 knock out roses with yellowing down around the bottom. We were told that it needed more water. I really don't think so with all the rain we have been having. What kind of problem could this be? It is only on the bottom 1/3 of each plant? Thanks

RE: Knock out roses with yellowing

Just visited a client's home yesterday and saw the same thing...yellow, dropping leaves....including a fair amount of black spot. On consulting with another horticulturist, we believe it is too much water......rainy spring coupled with automatic drip system. Even though knock-outs are resistant to black spot, they can still get it. We recommendeded cutting back hard to encourage new growth and more flowering and turning off the sprinkler.
