I did a web search once a while back about this plant and if I remember it correctly it is a semi-deciduous vine. I think I read on
some web site that the vine does not bare fruit. Very puzzling to me! Hope more will share their experience.

I have the goldflame honeysuckle and it keeps it's leaves (for the most part) thru the winter here in Charlotte, they turn an almost purple color in the winter. As honeysuckle goes it is well behaved, it doesn't send runners everywhere and the runners don't root easily like that asian stuff that is spreading thru our woods like wildfire.

I just purchased a goldflame honeysuckle today, the flowers are small, I'm wondering if there are different kinds of goldflame, as far as I can tell it has no fragrance, but on the pot it said it was fragrant...??
but it said fragrant in spring. Does this make sense to any of you with this plant?

AngelSmell, I get sporadic blooms all year on mine, but the best fragrance comes with the spring bloom.

I love mine, this is the third spring and it's finally growing well. The first year was plagued with a fungus on the leaves, and now suddenly it's leave are yellowed and spotted. I assumed at first it was the fungus again, but upon closer inspection saw there are 1/8 inch wide "trails" through the leaves, as if some kind of insect has tunneled through them. But when I looked on the backside of the leaves there's no evidence of the trails.

Anyone have a clue what kind of bug would do this and what to do to control them?

Could the trailing be leaf miners?
